Overlooking Bloomsbury Square, Victoria House is a neo classical designed building constructed in stages between 1921 and 1934, when it was completed. The building comprises in excess of 215,000 sq ft of offices arranged on two basement levels and eight floors above the pavement with two additional central tower floors. The Building was listed (Grade II) in December 1990. Refurbished in 2003 it now provides Grade A office accommodation.
We are instructed by Michael Page International PLC, who occupy nearly 30,000 sq.ft on part ground and first floors, to advise on the rent review due September 2008. The matter is the subject of arbitration. We are providing expert witness evidence and market expert evidence as to rental value and coordinating the case management and other technical experts.

Niall Sheridan and Geoffrey Wright are both long established
and highly experienced Arbitrators and Independent Experts who
are regularly appointed by the President of the RICS to resolve
a diverse range of rental and valuation disputes across the commercial
property sector. Both are also qualified PACT Arbitrators and
Experts. In addition Geoff receives appointments from the President
of the Law Society and is a member of the President’s Quality
Initiative team for the training and revalidation of the Independent
Experts across the UK.
Geographical Work Profile
The dominant commercial property (office, retail and restaurant/bars)
workload emerges from the established and specialist geographical
markets of Midtown – (Covent Garden and Holborn), Soho,
Clerkenwell and the Southbank (Southwark and Lambeth).
In Southwark we are also involved on warehousing and light industrial
units.
We act for institutional and private clients on properties of
all sizes.
Specialist Work
Outside our normal geographical boundaries we undertake specialist
work in relation to rental and capital valuation of primary healthcare
premises, leisure and A3 units ie restaurants, bars and pubs.
RICS Expert Witness & Advocacy Roadshow 2008
E A Shaw is pleased to announce that Geoff Wright will be a key speaker at a series of RICS Roadshows from April-June this year, with 11 events taking place across the UK regions.
Geoff Wright and Nicholas Cheffings (Lovells LLP) will be the lead presenters at each of the half day events. Geoff and Nicholas have been heavily instrumental in the process of producing the 2008 practice statements and guidance notes.
The roadshow is aimed at RICS members intending to practise, or already practising, as expert witnesses or surveyor-advocates.
