EA Shaw have risen up the Estates Gazette Central London Office Agency League Table, to 11th place, as a result of a fantastic year of office lettings.

This 11th position is truly remarkable when you consider all the companies above us in the table cover the much larger West End and City areas of the whole of London.  We only cover a niche central London patch, making our position all the more remarkable in comparison to competitors who cover a much wider area. Our success is due to a number of high-profile lettings both north and south of  the river, including deals of 27,500 sq ft at New City Court, St Thomas Street, on behalf of Great Portland Estates, and a number of lettings in CapCo's Covent Garden portfolio.

Charlie Killen, Head of Commercial, comments "we are delighted that our year of hard work has paid off: our elevated position in the league table speaks for itself. EA Shaw's commercial agents have demonstrated their ability to complete creative deals across our central London patch, and look forward to more success in 2012."

EA Shaw has been instructed to act as agent by the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) to find occupiers for the recently renovated Savoy Hill House in central London.

Savoy Hill House offers c. 30,000 sq ft contemporary office space in a period building which dates back to 1880. The property offers modern offices within a building that retains the charm and character of the historical building.

Charlie Killen, partner in charge of commercial at EA Shaw, commented, “While we expect that the character of this office space means that it is likely to be let to one tenant, we are open-minded as to letting it on a floor by floor basis. The location and history of Savoy Hill House offer a unique working environment so we expect interest to be strong.”

Located in the heart of London’s West End, Savoy Hill House’s prime central London location is just minutes from the Strand and Covent Garden. Embankment, Temple, Charing Cross and Covent Garden tube stations are less than a 10 minutes’ walk away, with Waterloo just 15 minutes over Waterloo Bridge. The proximity to Somerset House and Queen’s Chapel Gardens means that those working in Savoy Hill House can enjoy some serenity whilst being in at the hub of central London’s hustle and bustle.

As the number one commercial agent in Southbank and the number two in Midtown, EA Shaw knows this market well. Having transacted 359,841 sq ft of commercial property in 2010 the agency has completed 1,150 deals within the commercial property sector over the last five years.

EA Shaw have won the UK Property Award for Best Property Consultancy London. We were also highly commended in the Lettings Agency London category.

Charlie Killen, Head of Commercial, comments “this award is a fantastic accolade, and we are thrilled to be recognised for our consultancy expertise, especially as so much of our work focuses on development consultancy. Coming a few months after winning the Estates Gazette London Property Advisor of the Year Award, this proves that the property industry recognises our dominant position in the London market.”

Lisa Hollands, Head of Residential, adds “we are also very pleased to have been recognised as one of the premier Lettings Agencies in London, as it reflects the hard work of our team. We have successfully let a number of big schemes in central London, including St Martins Courtyard, so are undoubtedly at the forefront of the London market.”

EA Shaw have successfully let 31 Great Queen Street, for the first time since the building was built in 1924.

Formerly occupied by the Royal Masonic Trust, having been built for them, the building has now been let to Inferno Ltd., an advertising agency.

Inferno have taken the whole building on a 10 year lease, at £40 psf, after falling in love with the Grade II listed exterior, and beautiful interior period features. The newly refurbished accommodation, split over 4 floors, totals 10,386 sq ft, and blends carefully restored period features with modern fit-out and facilities.

Simon Lee, Partner at EA Shaw comments “letting 31 Great Queen Street was a unique opportunity to bring to the market a building that had been under the same occupation for nearly 90 years. We knew that the space would appeal to the sort of creative, media type occupier we have in Covent Garden, and we are delighted that Inferno have taken the whole building.”
